Dust Archive
Part1: 2018,  Part2: 2025~

A home is like a large book.
The people and objects that inhabit it constantly brush against one another, leaving invisible traces of writing across the floor. Instead of ink, these words are written in dust—a fragile and weightless material.
Dust is a residue of life, shed as we move through the world, and at the same time a trace of time that has quietly settled because no one came looking for it. To me, dust has never been simply something dirty to be swept away. I collect and preserve these small traces from the corners of rooms and the darkness beneath beds, where they might otherwise have scattered and disappeared forever. Gathering something so delicate that even a breath can disturb it resembles an attempt to hold onto vanishing time, if only for a moment.
Perhaps this act of collecting comes from a habit that has long existed within me. Like members of my family, who found comfort in filling every empty space with objects, I too struggle to let go of even the smallest fragments that are barely visible. Collecting dust therefore becomes not only a way of recording the time contained within a home, but also a way of examining my own impulse to accumulate and preserve.
Seen up close, dust is made of loose threads, fragments of skin, strands of hair, and countless unidentified particles tangled together. They may appear to be disordered remnants, yet they are among the most direct records of the lives and time that have passed through a space.
Dust Archive is a project about collecting and recording things that are easily lost, while asking what we leave behind and what we allow to disappear. By gathering traces on the verge of vanishing, I return to the time and lives that once existed there.
